Speaker Rick Green
Rick is a speaker for WallBuilders, a national pro-family organization whose name is taken from the Bible book of Nehemiah (Neh. 2:17), in which Nehemiah led a grassroots movement to rebuild the foundations that had been the strength, honor, and dignity of that nation. WallBuilders is an organization dedicated to presenting America's forgotten history and heroes, with an emphasis on the moral, religious, and constitutional foundation on which America was built – a foundation which, in recent years, has been seriously attacked and undermined. In accord with what was so accurately stated by George Washington, we believe that "the propitious [favorable] smiles of heaven can never be expected on a nation which disregards the eternal rules of order and right which heaven itself has ordained."

Father Robert Barron DVD/study for this engaging presentation concerning the Seven Deadly Sins, those great spiritual blocks that inhibit our flourishing in relationship wtih God and one another. Based on Dante’s writings, the seven deadly sins correspond to the seven stories of Dante’s Mt. Purgatory. Pride, envy, anger, sloth, gluttony, avarice and lust are all presented as patterns of dysfunction within us that lead to unhappiness. But that's not all! Father Barron shows us how to counteract these seven sinful patterns through a conscious process of opposition, which are the Seven Lively Virtues. The Seven Lively Virtues offer antidotes to each sin and help set us on the right path to healing and happiness.

Operation Christmas Child Packing Party
One of the joys we experience every Christmas season is sharing the love and truth of Jesus with children all over the world. We do this by packing shoeboxes of simple gifts (toys, school supplies, etc.) and sending them through the ministry of Samaritan's Purse. Getting ready for our Shoebox Packing Party (this year: November 10, 2012; 9 am - noon) is a year-round effort: our team leaders advise us of needed items and the best time to buy them. Our goal for 2012 is 1000 boxes! If you'd like to help out, please contact us to add your email address to our Operation Christmas Child mailing list. Special thanks to Payless Shoe Source in Hazel Dell for donating hundreds of shoeboxes to the cause!
